France is a country famous for its food culture, so they had a lot to live up to at Expo 2015. Their pavilion is made of laminated wood and was inspired by the concept of the covered market, a feature of many French cities. France’s pavilion and the installations within it focus on different pillars: developing new food models, improving self-sufficiency in developing countries, and aligning quality with quantity where food is concerned. The structure was developed by Paris agency Studio X-TU and constructed by CMC Ravenna. Images of the plans and photos of the finished pavilion can be found below.
