Marina Ceccolini studied at the University of Design of San Marino and her final project involved studying the recovery of food waste, and finding ways to turn this into a useful, biodegradable material. The result is AgriDust, which is composed of waste (64.5%) and a potato starch-based binder (35.5%). Its creation and processing is non-toxic, and AgriDust can be used to create packaging and plant pots, as well as being used as a 3D printing material. If you’re planning on visiting the Milan Expo this year, you’ll be able to learn more about the project in the San Marino pavilion.
