Swing & Light | Yoy design

YOY is a Tokyo based design studio composed by Naoki Ono, a spatial designer, and Yuki Yamamoto, a product designer. Started in 2011, their design theme is to create a new story between space and objects. We had already talked about their Peel Wall  and their Canvas seat. Today we’ll discover two lighting systems, “Swing” and “Light”.

SWING – A pendant light that looks as if it were swinging. From another point of view, you feel as if time were stopped. LED is used as the light source and the trace of light is represented by the system of optical fiber of PMMA. There are 3 types according to the way of swinging.

LIGHT – A series of a table lamp and a floor lamp. When switched on, a shade of light will appear on the wall. There is a LED inside the head of the pole which imitates a socket..
