The charm of the knot

From the intricate Basket table designed by Zanellato/Bortotto for Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades to the hand-woven metal fiber chairs by Loewe, the organic forms showcase a new level of simplicity and elegance in furniture design, while the knotting, weaving and interweaving appeared in completely unexpected materials and formats. 

Jacquemus and Exteta have collaborated on the re-edition of the Locus Solus collection by Gae Aulenti, a series of curved silhouettes that seem drawn as a continuous line and which curve and intertwine to form the seats; and then there is the purest simplicity of the Shibari chair by Studiopepe for Visionnaire, whose structure seems to be knotted.
